Local favorite Ikufudo is a butcher shop that has operated for around 50 years in Minakami. It specializes in pork products, such as house-made sausages, aged pork “Jamon Minakami,” and salami. They also sell Masuda wagyu beef, a rare find outside of Gunma. At the attached restaurant, you can try the famous meats and charcuterie in a comfortable setting. Enjoy hearty dishes including pork cutlet, roast pork, and wagyu steak, with German-style bread and pretzels; ideal to pair with craft beer or select wine from neighboring wine specialist Takizawa. The restaurant has indoor seating and a sunny terrace in the warmer months, with views towards the mountains and the nearby Tone River.
