A single-building onsen hidden deep in the mountains
Kirizumi is a tiny onsen hidden in the mountains of western Gunma. The facilities consist of a single wooden ryokan inn, constructed in 1883. Enjoy the rejuvenating baths and a wonderfully secluded atmosphere surrounded by lush nature. The remoteness of Kirizumi Onsen has made it a popular getaway for writers for more than a hundred years. Local stories date the spring's discovery to the 13th century.
