A small, historic onsen that spreads out over a new area
Said to have been discovered by Minamoto no Yoritomo while he was hunting in 1193, this hot spring area has a history of over eight hundred years.
The unique Yukake Festival where young people from the area vigorously splash the hot water at each other is held at this hot spring each year before dawn on January 20.
It moved to its current location in 2014 due to the construction of Yamba Dam.
