Kamimoku Onsen is one of the 18 onsen resorts that make up the Minakami onsen area. This small cluster of inns to the south of Minakami Onsen is set along the pristine Tone River. It is believed that Kamimoku’s spring is fed by snowmelt from Mt. Tanigawa that is heated underground for up to 17 years before emerging at the surface. Its location near Mt. Tanigawa makes Kamimoku Onsen a good base for those looking to hike, ski, or sightsee on the mountain.
