Hike through dramatic mountain gorges
The dramatic ridges of Mt. Tanigawa draw hikers and experienced climbers from summer through autumn. The Tanigawadake Ropeway takes visitors partway up the mountain for spectacular views across the area.
Experienced hikers can try the climb to the summit, but be aware of the weather, which can change quickly.
For a more leisurely hike with beautiful scenery, take an eco-hiking tour from Mt. Tanigawa to Ichinokurasawa, a dramatic gorge with a glacier at its base. Its cool temperatures make it a popular summer walk.
