A spectrum of colors at Lake Okushima in fall
Take a walk around Lake Okushima's shoreline from late October to early-November to see the autumn leaves' colors against the lake's intense blue.
The bold color, known locally as "Shima Blue," can be seen in the area's lakes and the Shima River. This shade comes from the transparency of the water, which appears as a cobalt blue. This hue further intensifies the colors of the fall foliage.
