High altitude means high-quality snow
Marunuma Kogen Ski Area, situated on the western side of Mt. Nikko-Shirane in the village of Katashina, is one of the prefecture's highest altitude ski resorts. Its elevation means snow conditions here are typically better than nearby resorts in the early (December) and late parts of the ski season (from late March onwards). The resort has high-quality, modern infrastructure, including extensive grooming for smooth carving and a quick gondola to whisk you up the slope.
