Enjoy spectacular gorge views and retro trains
Walk across Hanetaki Bridge over Takatsudokyo Gorge for breathtaking views of the valley below.
The pedestrian-only bridge provides views of the Watarase River, its rock formations, and deciduous forests. In summer, you can see lush green trees and azaleas, and in autumn, the trees turn a spectrum of red, orange, and yellow. The footpath continues for another 500 meters down to the river level, giving a different perspective of the scene.
The area is also a beautiful place to catch sight of the retro trolley trains of Watarase Keikoku Railway running along the river.
