Hello Kitty themed hotel deep in the forest
Gunma has no shortage of beautiful onsen ryokan inns, but Shima Grand Hotel is a little different. The large hotel is partnered with Hello Kitty, and one of its onsen baths is Hello Kitty themed. The pastel-colored room has views across the forests of Joshin’etsukogen National Park.
The hotel is also home to Hello Kitty Cafe Floresta, where Hello Kitty-themed food and drink is served. Non-guests can also dine in this kitschy cafe.
The rest of the hotel is a chic, classic ryokan. Guests can unwind in a range of other indoor and outdoor baths and eat in its other restaurants.
