Relax in the rejuvenating waters of a traditional hot spring inn in Sawatari Onsen
Ryumeikan is a traditional inn that was founded in the early Showa era (1926–1989), with a legacy dating back to the Taisho era (1912–1926). Sawatari Onsen was traditionally known as a place where travelers came to relax and rejuvenate in its clear, colorless sulfate waters after bathing in the acidic waters of nearby Kusatsu Onsen. Ryumeikan is the closest facility to the spring, which flows continuously into its rustic baths. The large dining room serves delicious meals made with seasonal local produce, and the Sumire cafe offers a cozy place to unwind after a long day.
