A theater long beloved by local residents
This two-story wooden theater was built in 1937. Its authentic construction features a stage 6.3 meters in diameter, an elevated walkway through the audience, and two-story seating. The entry way is said to be modeled after the Kabukiza Theatre in Tokyo. In its heyday in the 1950’s, the theater was so popular that it was constantly hosting popular troupes and singers, filling the seat so full that people are said to have climbed trees just to get a peek. It currently hosts a variety of events and performances. Be sure to check to see what is showing before stopping by.
