A hilltop temple with a monument to a famous poet
This hilltop Buddhist temple overlooks Kusatsu. The short climb grants scenic views over Yubatake, the hot water field in the town's center that feeds its baths.
One highlight of this temple is its monument to haiku poet Kobayashi Issa (1763–1828), who is known to have visited Kusatsu from Tokyo three times.
