An atmospheric onsen town
Ikaho Onsen is a historic hot spring resort town located less than an hour by train from Maebashi. The town centers around a 300-meter long path with steps, lined with restaurants, souvenir shops, and traditional inns.
The town is halfway up Mt. Haruna, and many of the hot springs have sweeping views across the nearby mountains. A short bus ride will take you to the beautiful caldera lake at the summit of Mt. Haruna. Mizusawa Kannon is a popular temple near Ikaho Onsen, and the many Mizusawa udon noodle restaurants lining its approach are nearly as famous.
