Reviving the samurai spirit under the cherry blossoms
Step back in time to the Sengoku period (1467–1568) when the Obata family ruled the area from Obata Castle. The town retains much of its original charm, with picturesque waterways and preserved samurai residences.
During the town’s cherry blossom festival in early April, residents revive the samurai spirit by marching in a procession along the tree-lined streets while dressed in traditional costume.
