A hidden hot spring retreat
People have enjoyed the healing waters of Akagi Onsen since the Nara period (710–794).
There are five inns where visitors can stay and soak in outdoor baths while gazing out across the mountain scenery. Many of the inns serve Akagi beef, a local specialty.
The area's location on Mt. Akagi's southern slopes, between the Arato River and the road up to Lake Onuma, makes it an excellent spot for exploring the surrounding nature.
